Matching pairs of shoes for a couple may seem a bit too teenage-ish, but still, my hubby and I do love having “couple shoes.” 😀
They don’t actually have to be exactly the same, complementing colors and similar styles work for us as well. When I found out that Victoria, a well-known shoe brand from Spain, was already available in the US, I just had to have a pair for each of us. For myself I chose the Camping Lona Soft in Anthracita($45) and for my husband the Camping Copete Lona Tenida in Gris($60). Both are made of cotton uppers in different shades of grey and the famed Victoria rubber soles from latex extracted from trees. These classic tennis shoes boast comfort and durability and do live up to their claim.
My Camping Lona Soft’s dark grey color makes it easy to pair with any outfit. It’s perfect for tee-and-shorts days but can also be worn with a casual shift cotton dress. Since it’s a slip on, it has become my go to footwear for quick trips to the store. The inner lining is also very comfortable that I can use it even without socks on if I fancy so. Aside from Anthracita (dark grey), the Camping Lona Soft also comes in Gris (light grey) and Rojo (red).
The Victoria Camping Copete Lona Tenida in Gris matches most of my husband’s casual clothing. Being in a farm means that he is always in casual clothes; so this pair of slip-ons would most likely be worn often. Since the soles provide reliable protection and gentle cushioning, sore feet from walking around the farm wouldn’t be a problem. This design also comes in Negro (Black) and Rojo (Red). I’m still trying to convince hubby to get another pair in Rojo coz I’m getting one in the same color.
These shoes are not only comfy, they’re environment friendly too. The soles are made from natural rubber which are even more resistant to heat and wear than synthetic ones. The fabrics are also made from 100% natural cotton which allows your feet to breath even while enclosed in shoes. All the materials used in the shoes can be recycled or re-purposed. Even the manufacturing process of these shoes meets environmental standards.
My husband and I definitely love our new complementary pairs of Victoria! I just wish they would add more designs to the ones they currently have in their collection. Still, we’re glad that Victoria Footwear is now available in the United States, with free shipping to boot!
