The weather may be erratic but you can’t doubt that summer has arrived. Even the light shower rains can’t keep the heat at bay. You don’t even have to be under the sun to feel the heat. We’re indoors most of the time, yet we can feel the scorching heat during hot cloudless days.
Though you want to avoid going out, you can’t stay locked inside your airconditioned room all summer. Summer is still best spent on beach outings with family and friends. Just make sure that your skin is well-protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Here are some tips you may find useful:
- SPF is important but also look for anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatories, and hydrating agents in your sunscreens and sunblocks.
- Reapply sunscreen every two to three hours; more often if you’re swimming. The sunscreen you applied in the morning won’t last you all day. Reapply!
- Hydrate with light fast absorbing lotions. Rich body creams will make your skin feel icky during hot humid days so stick to fast absorbing moisturizers.
- Don’t forget to protect your lips. Use lipbalm with sun protection and moisturizers.
- Grab those fab sunglasses before heading out the door. Your eyes are often the first thing that people notice so take real good care of them.
Since we live in the tropics and have sunny days year-round, it’ll be best to always keep these skin care tips in mind to retain supple and youthful skin.
