Product Review: Platypus Australia Rash Guards for boys
Summer days are getting hotter and we need all the protection that we can get to avoid skin irritations and sun burns while frolicking in the beach or engaging in water sports. Sunscreen alone is no longer enough to protect active kids from harmful UV rays that needed to be reapplied every few hours. Parents who want to protect their kids from the harmful rays of the sun while swimming will have to look further than kid’s summer fashion in choosing swimwear. This summer I am opting for a rash guard and bike shorts from Platypus Australia for Sean’s swimming needs.
Platypus Australia took skin protection a step further by offering swimwear with UV protection. Their sun safe swimwear line offers UPF+50 which helps block out around 97.5% of harmful rays from the sun. I chose the rash guard for Sean because it covers most of his skin without compromising movement and comfort while in the water. Rash guards are also becoming popular options for kid’s summer fashion because of the protection it affords. I don’t have to use up a lot of sun block whenever we spend time on the beach as only the exposed areas would need reapplication.
I got the UPF+50 Sunset SS with Bike Shorts – a short sleeve rash guard in black with light blue sleeves, white side accents, and white stitching. I like the high collar design that protects Sean’s neck and its nice and comfy fit. They are made from high quality Matt Nylon LYCRA which fits the body without the clingy or sticky feel. I also like the fact that no labels are sewn in reducing the risk of irritation or scratches in the nape area. The rash guard comes with a bike shorts that matches its design. It also has a good fit around the legs covering thigh area until just above the knee.
I also got the UPF+50 Sunshirt SS in bright red fabric with white side accents and stitches so Sean can alternate it with the blue and black one.
Nowadays, a good swimwear goes beyond being fashionable and a comfortable fit. The rash guard and bike short that I got from Platypus Australia covers Sean’s need for sun protection, quality, and durability. Plus, it’s a stylish choice for today’s kid’s summer fashion. Overall I am quite happy with Sean’s swim attire from Platypus.
