Outfits for a Wimbledon Ready Look

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and yet it still remains to be one of the most anticipated events every year.  This coming July 3 to July 16, 2017, the Wimbledon promises another dose of thrills from their stellar athletes.  The thought of Andy Murray battling for his third champion title has already got everyone excited. It is also likely that you will find yourself watching the games with celebrities on the stands. So if you are one of the lucky ones who got tickets for the event, you’d better prepare your outfits for a Wimbledon ready look.

What exactly does one wear to Wimbledon?  Wimbledon used to have a notoriously stringent dress code, but not anymore. The dress code for the tournament has become more relaxed in recent years.  Only fashion extremes like ripped jeans and dirty trainers failed to make the cut. However, this shouldn’t be an excuse to take your Wimbledon outfits for granted. After all, getting dressed up for Wimbledon is also a fun part of the event. To help you look your best for a Wimbledon ready look, Daniel Footwear is glad to offer some advice.

Clothing

The Wimbledon dress code is no longer as stringent as before, but there are still clothing no-no’s that you should keep in mind. We suggest you veer away from rugged to casual attires and go for a smart-casual look instead. Kim Murray and Sienna Miller were spotted at the Wimbledon in their chic smart-casual outfits.

You also have to consider the ever changing weather in Britain when choosing your outfits.  If the weather is overcast, it’s best to stick to trousers and a tailored jacket. Wear a loose-fitting vest or top underneath the jacket so you won’t feel hot if the sun suddenly decides to make an appearance.

In the past, tournaments have been blessed with good weather.  Spectators are able to soak up the sun and enjoy a cool breeze while watching the games. If the weather happens to be warm or sunny, choose clothing that will keep you cool. Floaty sundresses, tailored shorts and lightweight tops are great for keeping you cool in the July heat. Make sure you pack a cover-up too. A cardigan or thin jacket comes handy during matches that last long after the sun goes down.

Footwear

Unlike golf tournaments, Wimbledon games do not require long walks. As such, you’ll have a wider range of options in terms of footwear. If you plan to wear heels, choose a mid-height pair in-keeping with the smart-casual vibe.

Sandals are the perfect choice for Wimbledon, but please stay away from flip flops. Instead, wear strappy formal sandals that will keep your feet comfortable and cool. Strappy sandals with mid-height heels are your best options to achieve a Wimbledon ready look.

Accessories

Your Wimbledon ready look will not be complete without accessories. The idea of sitting under the sun all day may tempt you to wear a hat but this is not advisable. Floppy sunhats that are trendy this summer would most likely block the view of people behind you. As courtesy to your fellow audience it best to go with less distracting accessories.  We suggest a pair of chic sunglasses that will not only shield your eyes from the sun but also make sure that you don’t miss any action.
