Looking Hot in A Gorgeous Emerald Dress

I must say, this Hot Emerald Dress is a stunner.  When we got this dress, I imagined the different possibilities in styling it.  It really is a very versatile dress.  Since the dress size was a bit too big for me, my mom was the lucky woman who got to wear it.

The first time she wore it was for an early evening dinner with her amigas.  She paired it with one of her black pumps and accentuated it with a low necklace with black gems.  With the matching black gem studded clutch, she did turn some heads on the way to the restaurant.

By the way, my mom is 50 plus? Can you believe it? This dress is perfect for all ages.

This Papillon dress from Apricot Collection fits just right, falling beautifully in the curves that every woman wants to accentuate.  The nips-and-tucks detailing at the front as well as the mock wrap styling of the dress add to the shape-defining features of this dress.  Even functional details as the discreetly hidden zipper at the back and the full lining underneath the bodice tells you that the makers of this dress really put some thought into making this dress comfortably stylish.  Since its fabric is 60% cotton, this dress is soft and breathable as well.

I love that this dress is so versatile that it can be worn to different occasions.  Wear it with a suit jacket, a strand of pearls, and a pair of patent shoes for a business look.  Or you can pull your hair up in a chignon, wear a matching set of drop diamond earrings and necklace, put on a pair of sparkly strappy heels and you are ready for an evening formal.

Let’s get to know the woman behind Apricot Collection – Michelle

My favourite fashion staples are: skinny jeans, flats, tunic and a matching belt.

You can always combine these pieces with so many other items in your closet, such as: leggings, simple white top, big scarves, dresses. This is a really simple look to pull off, and that’s what I like – simple yet chic. Of course, always accessorize with jewelry.

My professional inspiration comes from many places: street fashion, fashion magazines, fashion bloggers, designer interviews and successful women entrepreneurs.

My personal inspiration comes from my family – my parents, my husband and my kids.

The initial idea of opening a unique women’s clothing store came to mind almost 3 years ago. A lot has happened since, and last July we started setting up everything for our beautiful online store.

I would have to say without any hesitation from the top of my head – Jessica Alba. I love her style! She can just pull off any style. She looks amazing wearing chic styles, classic pieces, bohemian, feminine. The trick is to make whatever you wear look effortless yet amazing, and she’s just perfect at doing it time after time.

It has to be clean and

organized. My work area is not very big. Just enough to have my laptop on it, my notebook and my phones. I also have an inspiration board over my desk with all the achievements I aspire to. It helps me remain focused.

First place – my smart phone. Second place – my laptop.

Apricot Collection is a Canadian company. Online clothing shopping is not very established here yet, but Canadians are starting to get into it slowly. We’re already seeing first signs that many of the big retailers are moving towards e-commerce, and I personally think it’s great. I know online clothing shopping is not easy because you can’t try an outfit before you buy it or feel the material. However, with the way the technology is taking control over our lives and the fast pace we all live in, online shopping would become a natural way of shopping, especially when you want to save time on traffic, parking, and crowded stores.

That’s my basic assumption and this is where I derive my 5 year plan from. I would like to see “Apricot Collection” become North America’s #1 online destination for unique fashion brands. We currently carry lines from Canada and Europe and I can see how the demand for that will increase in time. Our styles cannot be found just anywhere. Every piece has a twist – a bow, a slit, studs, sequins, gatherings, an interesting pattern, etc. Each piece is unique. Not only that, but comes Spring, we’d be adding a beautiful plus size line, so we’re trying to reach a bigger market.
