How to Keep A Healthy Inner Glow All Year Round!

During the spring and summer, our skin is out of hibernation from under long-sleeved tops and sweaters. Out comes the vests and shorts, and our skin takes on that fabulous glow, even if our tan is out of a bottle! The sunshine brightens our hair and gives us a happy feeling inside that we project to the world. Then, as the temperature drops again, we begin to spend less time outdoors, and winter can sometimes feel like a drag. So how do we keep that healthy inner glow that comes with the summer months? This guide gives you some tips!

Take Care of your Hair!

During the colder months, our hair becomes damaged, dryer and more prone to split ends. Add to that the need for winter hats, and this ends up with dull looking, flat hair. To keep your locks looking luscious, use a deep conditioning treatment once per week.

Stay Hydrated

While in the warm weather we naturally drink lots of water, and during the colder months we turn to hot drinks. While that is okay, it is still important to make sure you are fully hydrated by drinking plenty of water. When we have enough water in our bodies, our skin cells are plump, giving us a more youthful look to our skin.

Eat Right!

To keep yourself looking your best, you need to eat a diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables, as well as lean proteins. This gives your skin all the nutrients it needs to regenerate and repair itself. While we all tend to put on a few pounds over the winter months, eating a healthy diet will help keep your body in shape.

Take a Vacation

One way to get that natural summer glow back is to book a winter vacation to somewhere warm with plenty of sunshine! There are some great winter sun deals that are available if you shop around, and when you get back you will have that summer glow to keep you looking and feeling fab!

Use Makeup

Makeup can help give you that summer look for longer. Use a powder bronzer for a natural looking glow, and highlight under your brows, the inner corners of your eyes, and on top of your cheekbones with a shimmer powder. If your skin is dry, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize before applying makeup to keep it looking flawless.

Exercise

There’s nothing like a little cardio to get your blood pumping, allowing it to flush out all those toxins that give us dull looking skin! You might try jogging, skipping or swimming. Choose something you enjoy so you are more likely to keep it up, and aim to exercise for at least 30 minutes. Doing so will make you look good, and give you a mood boost too!
