Jeans have evolved from humble work clothes of the old days to fashion pieces today. Over the years we have come to see denim brands dish out low rise, acid wash, distressed and coloured jeans to set the fashion trends. This 2018, welcome the return of high rise jeans in the fashion scene. These jeans aren’t just comfy and stylish they can also flatter your body. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see high waisted jeans in OOTDs this year.
Nothing beats a classic when it comes to choosing a design. As such, a pair of classic high rise jeans should be the first item on your closet. Classic high waisted jeans are generally straight fit with a dark blue wash. This cut usually flatter women with hourglass figures as well as those with pear shaped bodies. However, this doesn’t mean that other body types can’t sport this OOTD trend. There are other high waist fits that you can explore to flatter your curves. Women can choose from skinny, slim, Boyfriend, cropped, or wide leg jeans to fit their fashion needs. Petite women can check out the High Rise Cigarette Jeans to make them look slim and tall.

The nice thing about high rise jeans is it can hide unwanted bulges by placing its cinch at your midsection. It can also help elongate the legs making you appear taller. High waisted jeans flatter almost all body types. However, long and leggy women usually prefer low to medium rise jeans to manage their body proportions. Nevertheless they may find the high rise baggy and culottes jeans as great additions for their OOTDs.
Denim fashion may come and go but we all have favourites that we tend to stick to. For some it’s the classic Levis 501 series, while others swear by the jeggings. How about you? What’s your take on the high waist fashion as part of OOTDs this year?
