Recently I have been spending a lot of time thinking about all the Christmas shopping I have to do, which I very much enjoy. I love shopping for loved ones and friends, and seeing their faces when they open the perfect gift. However, I’m not looking forward to spending high retail prices for all those presents. Luckily, over the years I have found ways to save myself quite a bit of money on my holiday shopping.
First, I have signed up for a few credit cards that offer cash back rewards. I use the cards throughout the year, and save the redeemed cash for November. That is when I usually start my holiday shopping. The next thing I look for are coupons. Stores are desperate to make money, even at this time of year, so many now offer coupons. I have found coupons for clothing stores, department stores and other locations that have really saved me a ton of money. Additionally, on top of using coupons I always shop sales. I rarely buy anything that isn’t on sale. Finally, it is great to find rebates on just about everything. However, you are most likely to find rebates on personal electronics, appliances and other home electronics, which are usually on everyone’s wish list.
I really try to make a game of it, see just how much I can save on one item and the list as a whole. It is also nice to be able to pick something up for myself with the leftover money. badmode
