It’s probably the hundredth time you saw the movie Happy Feet with your kids, and you still can’t help but cringe at the mere mention of the word “feet”. You always feeling as if people are pointing out your slightly larger than average foot size. If your feet constantly make you feel self-conscious, do know that there are shoe styles which help minimize the appearance of huge feet.
High heels. Although they may be slightly uncomfortable if you’re used to wearing flats, they will make your feet look smaller. Instead of sky-high stilettos, you can instead go for wedges or chunky heels which will still give you the desired effect.
Go round. Stay away from pointy toes and instead buy the rounded ones.
The dark side. This is the path you must traverse. Dark-colored shoes tend to make your feet look smaller. Black isn’t your only option, though. You can opt for darker earth tones, grays, or deep reds or greens.
Steer clear of straps. Anything that exposes your feet will only make them look larger. If you do want to show some skin, you can try peep-toes or sling backs.
Accents. Bows, buckles, lace overlays work at making your feet look more petite.
The biggest problem you most probably have is trying to find shoes that fit you. Your best bet would be to shop online. Online stores usually stock women’s shoes in all sizes- from a size 4 to 11. You may find the perfect nine west shoes to complement your style online.
At the end of the day, it’s all about attitude. Try not to focus too much on your huge feet, and highlight your other assets. Remember, style is an individual thing, and if you think about it, other people aren’t really as obsessed about your feet as you are.
