You’re almost neck-deep in snow as you peer outside your living room window, helplessly feeling sorry for your Volvo buried deep in ice. You feel thankful, though, that you got yourself one of those long sleeve thermal vests to keep you warm in your own private winter wonderland.
It’s that time of the year when your skin has to pay the price from the chilly weather. Make no mistake about it- winter can be your skin’s worst nightmare. Skin tends to be dry, itchy and scaly when it’s winter, so you should give it the extra care it needs at this time.
Since your skin feels dry in winter, your best bet would be to use a mild face wash with moisturizer instead of your usual soap. In lieu of astringents, look for a mild toner.
To keep from drying out your skin, remember to take a short bath or shower- no longer than ten minutes, and do it only once in a 24-hour period. Taking long baths will strip your skin of its natural oils and aggravate dry skin.
Get a good night’s sleep. If you scrimp on your Z’s, your skin will not look as healthy and glowing as you’d want it to.
